BBC Plastics
Plastic Manufacturing Facility
Big Bear Refrigeration Air Conditioning was contracted by BBC plastics to install two 100 kW chillers at their plastic manufacturing facility in Sydney.
Despite delays from the manufacturer, Big Bear Refrigeration Air Conditioning was confident they could still meet the client’s deadline before new robots arrived from Japan. During the commissioning of the chillers, multiple alarm systems were installed for the chillers and the water tanks and water pumps.
The water pipe run was over 100 m long and made of 80 mm copper pipe, all welded without any leaks. The installation also needed to comply with all fire regulations. Additionally, during the installation, additional pipework was required to extend the waterline by an extra 21 m to accommodate additional robots in the future.
Big Bear Refrigeration Air Conditioning was able to successfully install the chillers and meet the client’s requirements despite the delays and additional installation work.
Big Bear Refrigeration Air Conditioning faced some challenges with the installation at BBC plastics, but was still able to meet the deadline set by the client. The installation of alarm systems and compliance with fire regulations demonstrate the company’s commitment to safety and ensuring the proper functioning of the equipment. The additional pipework to accommodate future expansion shows that the company is forward-thinking and proactive in meeting the needs of their client. The installation was a success and BBC plastics is well-equipped to handle their growing manufacturing needs with the new chillers in place.
