Energy Savings 33% +

Description

What Are Cold Stop Coolroom Curtains?

Cold stop curtains, also known as cold room curtains, cool room curtains or freezer curtains, and are designed to create a barrier between different temperature zones, particularly in cold storage environments. Insulated PVC coolroom strip door curtains are ideal for temperature control, reducing energy consumption and dust control.

Cold stop curtains are a cost efficient thermal barrier based on Tempro® which gives the curtains unique insulation properties and thickness far greater than standard types of strip curtains, and resultant energy reductions. Floor ice and its associated hazards are reduced.

Fitting Cold Room Strip Curtains

Cold Stop® curtains can be supplied for self installation with easy instructions, plus a kit to hang the curtain. They are available for bespoke heights with deep, clear windows. They are quickly and easily installed by one of our technicians, or if you buy online with self installation in-mind, we’ll send you an easy instruction guide for your PVC door strips. Instructions include the concave nature of the PVC, the overlap on each side required to reduce your energy costs, and an easy to follow diagram.  If you’re installing a new door, you’ll get a strong face mounted aluminium headpiece, strips measured and customised to fit your door width, either in 100mm, 200mm, or 300mm widths, and a variety of colours to choose from. The items will arrive pre-assembled and when you receive the panels, they’re often stick together, but once in low temperatures, they’ll perform as expected and be easy to clean.

PVC Strip Door Panel Width

Each coolroom PVC strip door curtain panel is supplied in the standard 300mm wide strips with a sufficient overlap to that seals your doorway, securing dust isolation, noise isolation and insulates your cold room storage. Our Cold stop strip door curtains are supplied as insulated flat PVC with an aluminum railing head section and ideal for commercial freezers and cold storage areas.

Cool Room Energy Efficiency & Temperature Control

Cold Stop® curtains are energy efficient and provide reduced wear on evaporator equipment, allowing optimum settings to quickly achieve an internal working temperature.

Although proved with sensitive thermal imaging equipment, it is hard to believe the outside temperature of Cold Stop® curtains in a freezer can register at 10°C and the inside surface recorded at -21°C. A 31°C difference.

Cold Stop Curtain FAQ's

  • How do cold stop curtains work?

Cold stop curtains are made of insulated materials that help to prevent the transfer of heat between different areas in your commercial environment. They create a barrier that reduces energy loss and maintains the desired temperatures on either side of the curtain. They’re ideal for cool rooms & cold storage environments.

  • Where are cold stop curtains commonly used?

In Australia, these curtains are commonly used in cold storage facilities, walk-in freezers, and refrigerated warehouses. They can also be employed in food processing plants, supermarkets, and other environments where temperature control is crucial to prevent stock loss, or to preserve energy efficiency.

  • Can you customise the size of cold stop curtains?

Yes, absolutely. If you’re based in Sydney or the surrounding areas, we can measure and fit the specific dimensions of the space they are intended for. This includes options for different sizes, materials, and mounting configurations. If you want the curtain delivered for self installation, we can send you details instructions for your measurements.
